Accessibility

What we do so that this website works for everyone, and how to tell us about a problem.

Last updated: October 28, 2026

We want nelixra.net to work for every visitor, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard or a magnifier. This statement explains what Lakeshore Ledger has done, which gaps remain and how to report a barrier.

Our commitment

Accessibility is treated as part of building and maintaining this website, not as a separate project. Whenever a page is added or the design is changed, we check that the content can still be read with a screen reader, operated with a keyboard and enlarged in the browser. This statement covers the pages published under nelixra.net.

Other ways to reach us

If a page on nelixra.net does not work for you, the same information can be obtained without using the website. We can be reached by telephone on (807) 334-3841, by email at editor@nelixra.net and by post at 214 Algoma Street South, Unit 3, Thunder Bay, ON P7B 2L4. On request we will forward the content of a page in another form, for example as a plain text document.

Conformance

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. The site is currently partially conformant: most content meets the guidelines, while the points listed below do not yet. Where a requirement cannot be met right away, we provide the information in another way.

Known limitations

A number of illustrations are generic, and their alternative text names the subject instead of describing it in detail.

Feedback

If you encounter a barrier on this website, or cannot obtain information that you require, please inform us by email at editor@nelixra.net or by telephone on (807) 334-3841. It helps if you identify the page, describe what happened and mention the browser or assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond within five working days.

What we do

Pages use semantic HTML: headings follow one order, lists are marked up as lists, and link texts stay meaningful out of context. Navigation and main content form separate regions, and the language of each page is declared for screen readers. Images that carry information have alternative texts, decorative ones are marked as such.

Text, links and buttons are shown with a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 against their background. Sizes are set in relative units, so text can be enlarged in the browser without content being cut off, and links, menus and form fields can be used with the keyboard alone.

Preparation and review

The present statement was prepared on October 28, 2026 on the basis of our own internal assessment. We inspected the principal page types with a keyboard, at an increased zoom setting and with a screen reader; no external audit was commissioned. The statement is reviewed once a year and after any substantial change to the website.
